Well you had the misfortune of picking last, meaning that you were cast as Lagrange's version of Poland/Alsace-Lorraine/Jerusalem/The Netherlands/Manchuria/Northern Virginia.
The bright side is that your lands will profit from the tourism in the post-war period. Lots of battle sites for war buffs to visit.
