So, it's been a while since we have had a WFB event. Any interest in a megabattle on May 31st? That is a Sunday.
Brian - Are you still thinking about running a Mighty Empires campaign during the summer? I hope so!

May 31st sounds good to me. I would love to play some WFB. I would love to do ME campaign if we can get a crew together. I need a little time to recover from the the 40k map campaign.

May 31st is a go for me! Count the Wood elves(or Chaos if needed) in.
A late summer/ early fall ME campaign would be good.
Mid summer looks a little busy.

Let me "convince" my wife that May 31st is a good time for me to be away and I'll be down with my skaven again.

Any ideas on how many points we might be looking at? What armies might be showing up?

I hope that we can get at least 4-6 People. I will be in Colorado until the 30th but should be able to make it. I am willing to bring whatever is needed. Good-Bretonnia Evil-Daemons or Darkelves. I am hoping to get my friend Brennan in. He plays Skaven.
Maybe: Steve Wayne Ross?? (can you still make it?) Brian Brennan (maybe)
Others we should ask: Drew, Chuck, Jeremy, antonin, Devon
I would be happy to bring an Army for someone to play (say if tom can make for example). If I am forgetting anyone I am sorry just post if you can make it.

I am thinking about bringing Lizardmen.
I too am happy to loan an army to someone. I have Tomb Kings, Empire, Orks&Goblins, Dwarfs, and Dark Elves.

So, here is a suggestion for a scenario:
First, a "geography" lesson from WFB 101. (Those who already know this basic info, please skip this part.) There are 14 known planes of existence in our universe. We happen to live on the 1st of the 7 levels of heaven. "Below" us are the 7 levels of Hell. (Interesting that those who dwell on the 2nd level of Heaven happen to believe that we exist on the first of 8 levels of Hell.) Portals between these planes of existence are rare for only extraordinary events or wizards of extreme power can create them. This is good for, while residents of the other 6 levels of Heaven would have no reason to "slum" on our level, potential tourists from the 7 levels of Hell would easily be found and their visits would prove very unhealthy for us.
Now, back to the story. The Battle of Harma-Gheddon is but two months past. The battered armies have returned to their homelands to rest, recover, and refit. Although the Alliance of Evil won the battle, their leader, the Dread Necromancer of Steinbrennaria, destroyed the alliance when he was vaporized in the explosion of the Engine of Darkness. (Who makes this crap up? - Uh, never mind, I did.)
What has now become apparent is that the catastrophic explosion of the Engine of Darkness has ripped open no less then three portals into the 1st level of Hell! These portals allow access to the Ice Plains of Acesulfame. (Bonus points to he who knows from whence that name came.)
The Ice Plains of Acesulfame are home to the ancient temple of the Goddess Brittany, The Voice of Doom, the Dread Queen of the K-Fed Legions, wielder of the Spears of Seduction.....Inventer of KFC Grilled Chicken - you get the picture.
The forces of evil hope to seize the Temple and draw upon the powers of the ancient Goddess to, what else, nefarious ends. Meanwhile the forces of good hope to seize the Temple, destroy it, and close the portals (after they get back through them hopefully).
Four tables - one being the Ice Plains of Acesulfame and the other three representing access to the three portals. Winning side controls the temple at the end of the game.
Forces on the portal table dice off for Defender, Attacker. The Defender deploys 12" in on a long edge. That edge is the portal. Attacker wants to break through and exit units through the portal and onto the Ice Plains. Defender want to avoid that but can also exit units through the Portal.
There will be some special rules for the Ice Plains table, after all it is the 1st level of Hell.
We will determine who starts on which table based on who shows.
Does that work?

Currently the plan is for me to be there with Dark Elves with my Chaos split between Geoff and Brad.

If there are enough "good" armies I would actually like to play my as-of-yet to see battle Warriors of Chaos army. But I will bring the Wood elf army as well and I am OK with playing either.
Another reason I would like to play Chaos is that Steve's "special rules" usually have something that go like "any Wood elf equipped with a bow is useless for 5 out of 6 turns".
Great scenario Steve! Should be a blast!
Points level?

Hey, you're just lucky it is not 6 out of 6!
2000 point armies
We may have to stretch the definition of good and evil armies based on what folks are bringing so far. Maybe those Dark Elves won't be quite so dark for this scenario!
Ross - You bringing Dwarfs or Chaos?
Chuck - A good opportunity to break out the Empire.
Jeremy - Tell those Bretonnian knights to start putting on their armor.
And, those High Elves are still among the missing, Drew.
