The third installment of the T'Schere Trilogy!
Grubbynuts has taken Castle Anthrax and destroyed the Beacon of Amondene, opening the eastern third of the T'Schere system to invasion. Orks, Tau, Necrons, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Tyranids - everyone - has appeared to collect their share and more. Imperial and T'Schere forces have desperately tried to stem the tides of invasion will little success.
The T'schere people, protected from invasion for centuries by their defense networks that annihilated every invading force upon initial contact, are suffering greatly. Their unwavering devotion to their Triune God makes them believe that some transgression of theirs has led to this suffering.
Seeing an opportunity, the Dark Powers have stepped in. Alessa has whispered into the ear of many T'Schere leader and priest in the dark hours of the evening - your God demands a sacrifice in order to put everything right! On the Planet Nee there lies hidden for centuries the ancient Doomsday Device. Uncover this device and detonate it as a sacrifice of atonement with your God.
This daemonic taint has found it easy to infect the desperate T'Schere. They have searched for the Doomsday Device (rumored in the ancient lore to be hidden along the path between two shrubberies and under the tallest tree in the forest). A crack team of cleric-scientists (under renowned Father Herring) located the device after cutting down the tallest tree in the forest (with Herring's assistance).
Now, the planetary defense force (the, what else??, Knights of Nee) have dug in to defend the device while the clerics determine how to activate it. Unknown to them, the Daemonic Powers have also marshalled their forces to defend the device, knowing that a great moment of supreme chaos will begin with it's detonation.
All of the other races now know of this device and are racing forces to Planet Nee. Their motives may vary but their destination is the same. In an uneasy and fragile alliance, they have all agreed not to interfere with each other, at least until after their forces have made planet fall.
So, here are the "rules" so far. These may change (for valid reasons or no reason at all) between now and the battle (and maybe during the battle) so comments and suggestions would be welcome.
Shoot for 1,500 point forces but if you don't have 1,500 then bring what you have. If you have more, bring it just in case we need to even things out a bit. Normal FOC applies.
Tables probably set up in a "U" shape. PDF (Knight of Nee - probably Conrad and I assuming Conrad can make it) set up along the inside edges of the U. The rest (except the Daemons - Brian and Devin. Brad - You might even be able to use your Space Marines this time!) will deploy along the outer edges of the U. We will divide the outside edges in equal deployment zones and randomly choose in which zone each army deploys. Daemons will deep strike in and do what they usually do best - make a confusing mess of everything!
Doomsday Device has BS 4, armor 14 all around, and 3 structure points. It ignores glances. Pens take off a structure point. When the third structure point is gone, we roll once on the Device's effects chart and then it becomes a wreck. Also, the PDF forces can try to activate the device.
VICTORY POINTS - Score one point for every unit from anyone else's army you kill. (So, you put the final touch on that weaponless, immobile, Lehman Russ pillbox that someone else did all the preliminary work on, then you get the point.) Double points for killing a general.
If you can capture the Doomsday Device before it is activated and it is not destroyed at the end of the game then you get 4 points. (Is it worth the risk??)
Whoever takes the first structure point off the device gets 1 point. Two points for the second structure point. Three for the third.
PDF and Daemons can only get points for the Doomsday Device if it goes off as a result of their activating it. (So, no firing at your own device.) The PDF forces split any points for other army units killed by the device. The Daemons get any points for PDF forces killed by the device.
Since folks may have different point value armies, we will modify the point totals by the point value of your army to determine the winner. Highest modified point value wins.
