What: 40k Team Tournament When: Saturday March 23rd, 10:00am registration Who: You and a Teammate of your choice.
Lists will be 1250 per player. Allies will NOT be allowed (it's already crazy enough with two armies per side, we don't need to try for four).
Here's my suggestion: Before the tourney, both players must determine who is the alliance master. Why is this important? Because we will be using the allies rules to represent how individual models behave on the field. This also means that armies that are rated "come the apocalypse..." (which sounds like a really awful Mountain Dew promotion) with each other will NOT be able to be taken in this tourney.
If people really wanted to do Daemons/Sisters, Chaos/Grey Knights, Tyranids/Anyone etc., then I'd be willing to not use this ruleset. I Just think it would be super cool to use the new alliance rules to play a team tournament.
Let me know what you all think.

Looks good Drew.
If this is going to be based on the allies chart should we house rule codexs are brotherhood allies with themselves?

Jeremy and I will see you there Drew. What point value will it be at if we don't get enough players for teams?

On Corey's behalf... what to do with Tyranid? I am pretty certain he is fixing to bring a nids list...

My vote (and this is not only because I plan to partner with another Nids player as well....) would be to make an exception for those poor lonely little bugs.

Aye, its a bit of disadvantage when you play nids and can't play with anyone. I say allow them but count them as desperate allies.

Jeremy and I will see you there Drew. What point value will it be at if we don't get enough players for teams? 1500, so bring some extra models. Allies WILL be allowed if we do not run a team tourney. Okay, for Corey we will make Tyranids able to ally with others as desperate allies. Obviously some enterprising Ordo Xenos scientist (or Chaos Chirugeon, Ork Mek etc.) found a way to subvert the hive mind. Or alternatively, if the Nids are the alliance master, the other force would be a genestealer cult. We'll say that the "one eye open rule" is representative of either hiccups in the hive mind subversion process or, in the case of genestealer cults, the presence of full blood humans/eldar/orks whatever caught up in the rebellion and realizing their mistake (and the hybrids stopping to gobble them up). Fluff. I haz it. Most definitely! So to recap: nids are desperate allies for everyone. Same codex forces are battle brothers with each other.

I knew there was one more thing I wanted to ask. So there is going to be one Allies Master and one Allie.
If they are desperate will the Allie have non scoring/denial units?

Well you have at least one team interested in coming!
I know from events I've run and been in the past for team tournaments that it is usually just easier to throw the allies chart out the window and just say that rules only apply to your specific detachment unless both detachments come from the same codex. Either way I think works but as we have seen so far it can cause issues that need to be sorted out earlier (Tyranids, if not close allies do you roll to see if they trust each other each turn, etc?).
Anyways really looking forward to the event. All we need to show up is four teams so that shouldn't be too hard to get.

A question about the warlord?
Will there be one warlord per player (2 per team) or just one per team?

I knew there was one more thing I wanted to ask. So there is going to be one Allies Master and one Allie. If they are desperate will the Allie have non scoring/denial units? Just like in the book. So desperate allies might not be the best choice. 1 per player, so 2 per team. Other than enforcing the allies rules (which also neatly cover interactions between forces), I see this working just like a normal tourney.

Probably will just end up being a 1500 point. 1v1 then, not much of a reason for me to try and team up. So ill bring my stuff and see how many people we have show up.

Just to be clear, both the master and... let's call the other person the "associate", get a full force org. The allies matrix is simply used for interactions between the forces on-field.
