I'm posting for three 40k players -- me (Ryan), my brother, and our neighbor -- who are all looking to play some games over the next couple of months, coming off the release of 6th.
For some background, we're all from Etna and have been pretty seriously playing fantasy and 40k for 12+ years. We've (unfortunately) never gotten involved with the gaming scene at triple play, but with the release of 6th edition we were hoping to change that!
I currently play vanilla marines (boo hiss, I know), my brother plays a pretty balanced IG, and our neighbor plays aspect-heavy eldar. We're definitely avid gamers but we aren't overly competitive/powergamers, so we'd probably prefer friendly, semi-competitive games.
Are there any days in particular when people play 40k at the store? Or do we need to arrange games individually, and if so, is there anyone looking to play some games in the coming week or two?
We usually play 1500 points but we can flex if there's a different standard value for the store!
Thanks a lot! Ryan

Hello,
Triple play does have a few players around during the weekends, which is really the only times I go. FYI, Usually if you see a special event planned for a saturday on the store calender posted on home page you can expect to have very litle room for other gaming though.
Currently I guess we are all adjusting to the new rules, I actually played two games last weekend at 1500 myself. But most people really dont have a set points value for casual play, just what anyone feels like at the time.
Welcome.

Great, thanks for the info! Would it be a safe bet to stop by on a Saturday looking for pick-up games, provided there's no scheduled store event?
As for the tournament on the 11th, that sounds awesome. It doesn't look like it's up on the store calendar yet, so have any of the details been decided yet? And will we have to register in advance?
Thanks again

Expect it to be 1500 points - we are starting lower for our first time with the new rules. Our tournaments are always between 1500-1999 points we rarely go under and almost never go over.

Hey, myself and a few others are also free on weekdays. ANY day after 4pm (I get out of work at 3:30) I'd be up for a game at any point value =) I play Necrons btw. Damian also has some free time durring that i'd bet he'd be willing to share. We (Damian, Evan, Jon and myself) have been rocking out two to three 6th ed games a day since the release to get the rules down =p I usually don't check to see who is at the store every day but if i see anything on the forum saying you'll be down I'll be there.

Great! Thanks for the offer! I/we will definitely be taking you guys up on that in the near future. Right now, we're waiting up on some bitz to come in the mail, but we could be available to play as early as next week. As for the store standards, what is the general feeling on painted/unpainted? I much prefer to play with fully painted models/terrain/etc, but all three of us are in varying stages of building up our new armies respectively for 6th edition. We should have everything completely done by the tournament, but until then it will be mainly varying stages of WIP.

All of our terrain is painted. Armies, as long as it's built and wysiwyg it doesn't matter if it's painted or not.
