We will be having two events for June. ;D
First off will be a 2000 point tournament on Saturday June 9th. Because of the large tourney size, participants need to show up by 10:00AM. Standard list building rules apply. It will be a W/L/D tourney in the style that I hope everyone is familiar with by now. Just in case, I will be posting full rules up with the mission by this coming Saturday.
Saturday June 30th will see a 40k Megabattle! I met yesterday with the Chrises and Brad and I think we have a cool idea for how to run it. You'll have three options for how to participate:
If you want to play on the main tables (3 of them) I'm thinking 3000 points and one strategic asset per player or 2000 points and one superheavy per player (provided you don't go over 3000 points total). Use as many formations as you like!
There will also be a 2500 on 2500 Planetstrike game on one table, so I have two slots for people interested in that. No superheavies will be used here and some strategic assets will be banned.
If Vinnie is amenable, we could also have a 750 on 750 zone mortalis game going on. In fact, such a battle could have major ramifications on the major conflict taking place on the main tables.

I'll have to miss the tournament. I'm getting hooded that morning at the med school and have a wedding in the afternoon.
I should be there for the 30th though. The Zone Mortalis tiles will be available for gaming whether or not I can make it.

Congrats man! Should we be calling you Master Vinnie from now on? Or perhaps Doc Vinnie?

I'm thinking the June 30th event basically be our last for 5th edition. We'll send it out with a bang and then spend july figuring out how the new rules work.

What if you want to use a superheavy that is less than 1000 points can the difference be put back into your standard unit buying?
Are we going to decide who plays where and on whose team before the battle?
Also put me down for wanting to play on the main table, and planet strike in a pinch if no one wants to play there.

Ditto, would prefer the 3k table or the planet-strike, no preference those two though.

What if you want to use a superheavy that is less than 1000 points can the difference be put back into your standard unit buying? Nope. My idea was to have the point discrepancy be the price a player pays for bringing a super heavy. Actually, I just realized a better way to do this: A list that has no super heavies: 3500 + 2 strategic assets A list with super heavies: 3000 + 1 strategic assets Oh yeah. Let the carnage begin.

With the happenings in Miami over the weekend, might some type of zombie theme work for you Drew?
