How about an 1850 regular tournament this month and a mega battle next month... that will give us time to develop a setup that works for everyone.... I have a 3-5 table setup in my head right now... but it will take time to work out the kinks.

We could do a gladiator arena type of event in various points classes. We could use the downloadable rules for Operation Kill Zone and do a kill-team type of event. I recommend Operation Kill Zone because they've done a pretty good job coming up with a balanced and fun set of kill team rules beyond the battle missions book. We could do some of the goofier Games Day type of things like: Tankpocalypse, (jet)bike races, or if someone had a particularly large horde of mutants/zombies/undead, a last man standing dawn of the dead type of event. I'm happy to participate in any of those or the 500 point combat patrol.

A commom trend in list building that dominants the game because it takes advantage of the current rule setting.

Looks like Tripleplay will be open for open gaming this Saturday (hallelujah!), so I'm planning on coming down. Any of you who would like to meet to plan the megabattle are welcome to come too. I've got a really complex idea that could be a lot of fun if it's done right.
In the interim, I suggest we plan a tourney. There seems to be fairly divided opinion on whether to do a standard (1500-2000) level tourney or the 500 point combat patrol. I'll post up a poll on this so that we can gauge opinion.

How complex? And how many 4x6 table frames are there at triple play?

4, with a about two foot cavern that can be used to combine two of the tables in a dynamic way
