I've never played in it, but I was looking forward to it this year... Maybe we could get a local 2500pt big tourney going with a few others stores.

I would love to hold our own 'ard boys. 2500 is fun to do at least once a year.

I've only been able to go to one a year ago. I almost went to the last one but I was in the middle of moving up here and told myself there was always going to be one next year. I guess you shouldnt take oppurtunites for granted because there may never be another one Maybe our next monthly tourament can be one....... or better yet Armourd Spearhead! I heard you can get more tanks in your game with tanks! P.S. Armoured Spearhead Dumb

So GW has pritty much offically stopped doing tournaments then?
I wouldnt mind a 2500 point tournament once a year. More then once a year though can get pritty irritating.

Mixed feelings on this. It was cool to have a national tourney, but I don't think 2500 point game works well within a 2.5 hour time limit (unless my opponent plays as quickly as I do). A lot of the games at the 'ard boyz rounds I've been to didn't go 3 rounds. That's a problem.
That said, some of my best games were 'ard boyz games. I'll be sad to see it go.

Id be sadder about it going if it was more like the original GW grand tournies, but having the show case tournament of the hobby being unpainted plastic and unfinished min/maxed lists was just sad.
On the other hand, GW has seen over the last 15 years a fairly healthy independent grand tournament scene grow up around the country and world. Most of them have developed some reasonable restricitions on the broken combos in both 40k and fantasy, and adjustments for comp and the like.
But ive had alot of fun in most of my ard boyz games. Just a couple of twits along the way.

Supose this makes my trophy a collectors item now. I'm sad too see it go, I likes the larger point standard games. Since it meant you could justify playing some of the more infrequently used stuff in the codex, which you never seem too have spare points for in the "standard" size list

Drew has an irrational fear of large point games, I think we should have our own 'ard boys at least once a year.

He has a point 2500 points in 2.5 hours was often hard to do. Unless you went with a mech army and few units. it really should have been 3 hour rounds.

or we could do a round robin with 2500 points so time limit isn't an issue
