I took first place with mech guard. Tony took secound with a horde of orks.
Great tournament Drew, good missions and well run! Its hard to make lists for the 400 point lvl, alot harder then say 1850.

Glad to hear that people had a good time. It was my first time running a 5-round tourney and I think I only ended up with one accidental rematch. Not too shabby! I created a system on the fly that fixed this problem, so the next time we do this it shouldn't be a problem.
Seemed like hour rounds were sufficient in most cases too. I think I only had to tell people "dice down" once during the whole event. Considering 30 games were played in all, that's pretty good!
Stay tuned for next month's event. I'm thinking a team tourney (1250 per player) with a shared force organization will be the way to go.

shared force organization will be the way to go. Blame it on me being a newbie, but what does Shared Force Organization mean?

it means both players have one force org chart- so there cannot be more than 3 heavies between the two players.
Don't be a girlybits drew - 1500 per player!

"girlybits" I think I have a bin of that stuff left over from building my Sisters army. You know, eviscerators, heavy flamers, and that sort of thing...

Hmm, I take it the players are chosen before the tourney and work on an army list togeather then?

rossI want to keep the points semi-low so that our newer players can easily build up and so 2 hour rounds can be somewhat attainable. @steve I'm sure that's what ross was calling me - an eviscerator ;D Hmm, I take it the players are chosen before the tourney and work on an army list togeather then? That's right. I'm not a big proponent of random teams. More details as they become available

So, Drew - er, Mr. Girlybits - do you have a date in mind for the May team event? The sisters have such a packed social calendar they like to book it early.

On May 12th I'll be in Maryland reliving 1862 by visiting the Antietam battlefield. And no, Tony, I did not actually fight there despite any rumors you may have heard. (I was already too old to be conscripted!)
