Sorry for the double post, but I have a question. With the combat patrol rules, I CANNOT take a Necron Royal Court, right? Since a Royal Court requires an Overlord, and an Overlord has too many wounds. I'm asking since I realized that the Ork force I was going to run is illegal, I'm I'm trying to figure out something else.

It just happens that way sometimes. I once lost a game when my opponent had exactly 1 guy left on the table. It happens.

Ah, ok. I didn't realize that sort of thing happened sometimes. I don't play that often, so thank you for informing me.

Ah, ok. I didn't realize that sort of thing happened sometimes. I don't play that often, so thank you for informing me. It does happen, but it is rare. However you do bring up a good point. Since the removal of the objective takes place at the end of the round, it is possible that neither player will have a chance to react to the removal of the second-to-last objective. The point of the mission is to make players pay attention to ALL objectives, but I hadn't thought about a possible turn 5 ending. I see where such an ending could seem "random" and unsatisfying. Therefore, I'm going to change the mission to make the removal of the objectives take place at the BEGINNING of the game turn rather than the end. This means that both players will have a chance to react to the final removal, while still encouraging them to pay attention to all objectives.

I like it, the issue of not being able to react to the newly removed objective was the issue for me. I think removing it at the beginning of the turn keeps with the spirit of the mission but still allows each side to have a little time to react to the new situation.

You should have the removing objectives explode. Its hilarious in apocalypse from my experience.

Would it be a douche move to use the Termagaunt rule that lets me take a Tervigon as a troops choice combined with the combat patrol rule that lets troops have more then 2 wounds to run a tervigon (6 wounds) in combat patrol? It would be half my army's points, but still... seems like people would not like me doing that.

I don't mind because sadly I won't get to play tomorrow. I'll stop by because I have some bits for beakie and need to sort out some sprues with commissardanno, but otherwise I have an easter dinner with the mother-in-law to goto.

Yesterday was great fun! Thanks Drew for organizing it. Thanks to everyone who participated. I haven't played 40k in over 18 months so it was a great way to get a refresher. Not much of a margin for error in these small games and the luck of the dice can be a big factor. OK, I killed like 90% of Small Caleb's army. He had like 4 orks left. I lost less then 50% of mine. And he still won!?!? What's up with that?! That's (almost, but not quite) like kickin' your grandpa's butt. Must have been the flabby arm skin, eh Tony?

It was a great format, fast games, and 5 different opponents during the day. While the scale also kept the intensity a bit lower than in a larger point total tournament.
It was fun seeing how the small point totals often mirrored the larger armies and even played about the same way.
