I'll be there as well. I'll be posting up the mission at some point this week so those who show up on saturday will get a chance to test them out. I've got a new format for the tourney that should be pretty cool.

I would like to drag the Sisters out of retirement and at least give the new "codex" a shot. Even though I want to either cry or scream over what has been lost. Now I know how Tom G. felt about the new Ork codex.
I will try to be there this Sat. and next for the tournament. Caring for two aging, ailing parents and spending time with three grandkids does keep one occupied but it will be a number of years (decades??) yet before you guys are faced with those things!!

Steve, you just made my day. It'll be great to see the sisters roll out again.
Actually, they MAY just come into their own in combat patrol. No guarantees, but the ability to put that many crazed nuns on the battlefield may be pretty cool. Also, at least you won't have to worry about the Canoness not being able to purchase a jump pack anymore. ;D
Anyway... Missions!
This tournament will be based on a single primary mission for each scenario. A player can achieve a win by achieving the primary mission or by wiping out his enemy (as everyone being dead on the other side tends to settle the matter of who won the battle quite decisively)
If at the end of regulation, neither player has acheived a victory by primary mission or wiped the other out, you proceed to the first tie breaker. If you cannot establish a win on the tiebreaker, then you proceed to the second tiebreaker (which: "shocker", is always going to be pure victory point). If you tie on that too, then you have achieved a draw and I hate you.
It will be a record tournament (W/L/D) to determine the winner, but you will score points to break ties based on how you win. A win via wipe-out or the primary mission is worth 3 points to the winner. A first tiebreaker win is worth 2 points to the winner. A secondary tiebreaker is worth 1 point to both players. A draw is worth 0 to both players (as a reward for being insanely annoying and hateful).
All missions will be played on a 4X4 board. Deep strike, infiltrate, reserves and random game length special rules will be in effect for all games.
Missions (in no particular order)
Meeting Engagement: "We know they're out there somewhere, soldier. You're the eyes and ears of the force as we advance. Fight your way past their patrols and find out the disposition of their forces while you're at it."
Deployment: Pitched Battle Primary Mission: Recon (have more non-fleeing infantry, bike, jump infantry units and mobile vehicle units in your opponents deployment zone than he has in yours by the end of the game) First Tiebreaker: Victory Points (margin of 40 or more) Second Tiebreaker: Victory Point (Even one more)
Sweep "We want you to clear ground ahead of the main advance. Kill as many of their vanguard as you can while you're at it."
Deployment: Spearhead Primary: Cleanse: Control more neutral or enemy table quarters than the enemy (control by having a scoring unit WHOLLY in any table quarter without any contesting enemy forces) First Tiebreaker: Victory Points (margin 40+) Second Tiebreaker: Victory Points (margin 1+)
Patrol "We've decided to split up your already small force into indvidual units in an effort to find the enemy quicker. Once you do, we're confident that your other forces can respond quick enough to crush the enemy."
Deployment: Dawn of War EXCEPT only one troop (though they may be in a transport) may deploy and everything else must go into full reserve (i.e. not showing up until turn 2 at the earliest). Primary Mission: Victory Points (margin 40+) First Tiebreaker: Have the unit closest to the center of the board Second Tiebreaker Victory Points (margin 1+)
Rescue "There's something out there that we want very badly. Only problem is, we don't know exactly where it is. We've identified several points at which the item might be found. Once your sensors are on the ground, we'll be able to scan the possible locations and update this intelligence. Oh, and the enemy wants it too, so try to not get killed."
Deployment: Pitched Battle Primary Mission: Seize Ground with 5 objectives (at the beginning of every GAME turn from turn two to turn five, randomly select and remove one objective from the game.) First Tiebreaker: Victory Points (margin 40+) Second Tiebreaker Victory Points (margin 1+)
Take and Hold "Take this piece of ground and hold it until reinforcements arrive. That is all."
Deployment: Spearhead Primary Mission: Hold 1 center of board objective with a scoring unit First Tiebreaker: Victory Points (margin 40+) Second Tiebreaker Victory Points (margin 1+)

I like the missions, especially how even with five missions you made it so it wont feel like we are just repeating missions. Am i the only one that misses Cleanse as a win condition?

I don't miss cleanse, table quarters is a pregnant dog. It's either impossible or favors the person going first who just destroys all your vehicles first turn.

Not as bad as table quarters where you just get stuck in your own quarter. Not to mention one lone model hiding in a corner contesting the whole quarter.

Considering you could deploy .1" away from the neutral quarters on turn 1, I think mobility was less important in cleanse than in other missions. Even the enemy's quarter was not all that far really, even if they went first and put a heavy down on the center line to push you back. The lone dude contesting could be problem though. Especially with the ever-present infinite terrain back in 4th. Good times.

The big thing with Cleanse, is it favored aggressive armies, so surprise surprise that i liked it. I liked most of the old missions, and personally some of them were more challenging then the current missions that 5th edition brought us.
