Hey everyone, Caleb here. I finally got around to creating a forum account! But that's not why I'm here.
This message is mostly for the people who regularly play EDH on thursday, but of course anyone else is welcome to read it.
I recently learned about a and EDH variant format called Pauper EDH. It's nearly identical to normal edh, except for 2 differences:
1. All main deck cards must be of the common rarity. 2. Your general is ANY uncommon rarity creature.
I thought it seemed kind of cool, and I wanted to judge interest. Would anyone else be willing to throw together a pauper EDH deck and try and play the variant next thursday? Or, would you guys at least be ok with me using a pauper EDH deck vs your regular edh decks?
Oh, and on a related note, I need some cards (mostly from the alara block) to finish my second pauper EDH deck, and I'm willing to trade quite handsomely for them. PM me if you're interested and I'll send you a list.

Ok, after looking at gatherer I found that there are a couple of really decent generals at uncommon rarity that are alright. There are a bunch that are from portal three kingdoms, so good luck getting those, and then there are a few that aren't legal because the card is only legendary in the "flipped" state (stupid Kamigawa).
It would be fun to do this in Two headed Giant as well- Two Brothers Yamazaki Decks!

OK, I need to be more clear. When I said ANY uncommon creature, i meant it - that includes non-legendary. While I agree that that spoils the flavor a bit, I really like it from a deckbuilding perspective.
However, I am certainly open to discussing it further. If we only want legendary uncommons, then I'll go with that.

This could be interesting. I will have to look at it more. I do like that this variant opens up to non-legendary creatures since there are not that many non-legendary creatures at uncommon.

Since I love building decks I have three that I built on my train ride today. While I won't be there next week, I will be the following Thursday. Looking forward to play them, and I hope there are a few people who will be playing them as well.
That new guy.
