Glad I'm not the only one that still has last minute building to get to 1850.
I've still got 3 Kabalite Warriors and 7 Corsairs to build and I think my Princess's bladesworn retinue are going to mysteriously look a lot like plain old Howling Banshees for some reason...

Ross,
Do you play with Imotekh as well with the nightfighting from the beginning of the game, too?

hmm.... I am bringing a very shooty list to the tournament and night fighting is gonna be hard for me to deal with... plus since i have never played you in a tournament yet, I figure we are due for it this time around.

Nope, there are no Hoplites in this list. I do run a Lysander counts as (now named Achilles) who sports a larger version of the same shield, though.
I am still trying to find a way to make the Hoplite work in a list that can win. I think once I get my Land Raider painted, they will ride it it as an honor guard squad without jump packs, I think.

In reality my army doesn't have any long range shooting so night fight isn't so bad for you since I have to get close to shoot you so you'll be close enough to have a good chance of seeing me.

I thought that might be the case, but I was hoping to take care of those wraiths at range. The Necrons are solid at medium range shooting which the night fight forces both players into.. it would be less of an issue if I had search lights.

Thanks for attending! @everyone. We had another good turnout, with ten people showing up and playing for three rounds. The top prize winners were: 1st: Jeremy with his Bronze Legion space marines 3-0 Seen in battle against the Eldar Corsairs here: Against the Grey Knights here: Against the valiant Flesh Tearers here: And after their hard fought victory: 2nd: Chris with his Mordrak-led Grey Knights 2-1 Seen here: Painting Prize: Mark with his Paladin unit Seen here: Other shots from the day: Flesh Tearers line up to take on the Sisters of Battle: Hot ork on ork action - whose models are whose? Who can tell? Hint: the blue guys belong to Chuck. Grey Knights hold the line! Grey Knights vs Boyz Painting competition (Chris seems VERY interested by Chuck's Warboss):
