I was reading the Imperial Guard faq and this popped out to me.

Page 96 – Infantry Platoon, second sentence
Change to “Each Infantry Platoon is deployed in place
of a single unit in missions that limit the number units
that can be deployed. In addition when making a
reserve or outflanking roll, roll once for the whole
Infantry Platoon. Any units in reserve that are
embarked upon a non-dedicated transport are instead
rolled for separately.”

So does that mean that in dawn of war you can deploy the full platoon as one of the two troops? Strict RAW seems to allow it i think.

I think it's pretty balanced given that the 3-4 squads in one platoon geneally cost as much as any other army's single troops choice.

But consider IG can throw down over 100 models at the 24" line in dawn of war... not truly fair.

I can only hope Cruddance makes the next Tau update and then GW gives them FAQ's like that I guess.

But there where a lot of weird ones that popped up this time they updated the FAQs. I find it kind of strange that they did a bunch of them to begin with; I hope it means they are attempting to pay more attention to the players and not the consumers.

At least they didn’t let that silly "of course you get furious charge off of counter-attack".

I just hope there is a knew tau codex lol, and that they dont turn them into marines with fancy guns.

236 + 30 Heavy Weapon bases actually. I don't see the problem.

I'm light on the heavy weapon teams, but I think I got the basic infantry covered.

One of the lists i want to test before the 1500pt tourny is a horde guard army, so yes you do lol.
