Modern?

Dixie do you have any plans to try and run any Modern format tournaments on Fridays?

I am going to run a modern tournament soon. I am currently trying to work out a rotation that will use draft, standard, modern/legacy for the FNMs and as soon as I do I will post it here and give you guys a schedule so that it is easier to follow.

That would be great, I'd love to put it up on the store calendar so people know what's up!

I don't really have any cards, but Modern sounds like it would be a fun format.

It's going to be interesting. Wish I had the money to get all the lands for the format, a full playset of each Rav Shock land and a full play set of the Enemy Fetch lands from Zendikar, just because then I could really deck design but oh well I will have fun with my collection and just have to make some broken decks that way. You know like everyone else that is going to be playing.

I've been playtesting modern online and i am fairly confident in saying that modern will be an awesome format if they reprint the shocklands, otherwise i won't be able to afford to play it, unless i play 12 post.

Ya that is what I am thinking as well. Fortunately I caught some GGSLive coverage of Grand Prix: Pittsburg over the weekend and Aaron Forsythe was there gunslinging. They convinced him to come in and interviewed him live, he said "We created Modern so we can reprint the staple cards that are needed." when he was directly asked about the rav shock lands his response, after some prodding was "We will reprint staples, including them, but it won't be soon." so they will get reprinted but probably not until next fall at the earliest.

When will you have the schedule for FNM rotation up? Just trying to plan out the month and want to get in a couple of FNM's. Thank you.

The rotation wont officially start until after the release of Innestrad which is Sept 30th. There will be a release event at Triple Play for that. I will try to figure out what we are going to be doing until then Friday though and will try to have it posted up by Monday night.
