I've been trying to find a way to add more vehicle-based tank-killer weaponry to my CSM list, which currently has two defilers and 3 oblits filling its heavy support slots. One idea I came up with was a rhino with 5 chosen, two of whom have melta guns. That comes out to 145 points. The thing I'm not sure about is if its worth the points. It would only have a 12" range and isn't that much cheaper than a predator (20 points short of a pred with full lascannons) so I'm not sure that it would be able to earn its points back.
Demonic possession would increase its durability, but its 20 points.
Plasma guns instead would put it at 155, which would increase the range but there'd be no chance of killing anything other than transports.
Lascannons would make it way too expensive, and decrease the mobility of the squad once the rhino pops.
The melta gun plan seems the closest to cost-effective, but without demonic possession or extra armor I'd have to hope everyone is too busy shooting at the Defilers to notice it, which is unlikely against decent players.
Thoughts or advice anyone?

You are on the right track, thry either 5 chosen/ 5 meltas in a rhino or the the other good option out of the elites slot is "termicide" 3 Terminators with combi-meltas 105 points hit or mis proposition.
In the fast attack slot I have toyed with 5 raptors with 2 meltas, the chosen seem to work best for me.

What you've gotta remember is that the 'infiltrate' special rule allows the chosen (and their rhino, if they're in it) to outflank. This means you can essentially put them within 14" (12" move, 2" disembark) of a short board edge. It may not sound like much, but usually there's something juicy there, and if there's not, your opponent has probably hamstrung his movement. If he has, you can usually find a safe spot to come in, or failing that, pop smoke and pray.
In any case, becasue of outflank the 5 meltas end up working quite well without possession or extra armor for the rhinos. Though certain chaos players often mix in a flamer or two for versatility.
