I disagree that Oblits are daemons but not much I can do about it.
I need to look when I get home to see if Lash is actually a psychic shooting attack or acts as one. If so I will have to roll to hit from now on which adds a variable into the equation.

What makes Oblits not daemons? They are huge dudes that are mostly daemonic.

They are corrupted from a daemonic "computer" virus from my understanding. They did not originate from the warp. I will have to reread my chaos book entry to further articulate.
Part of my reaction is just a gut feeling because of the army I run and spent a small fortune on. I guess playwise if they are in combat with grey knights they are dead regardless of preferred enemy so I shouldn't worry too much.
It is just interesting the units they chose as daemonic imo.

I wonder if they considered adding Mephiston to that list.

According to the FAQ, Chaos Spawn aren't daemons... Also, it's funny that the Slaanesh special character also isn't, even though he appears through possession of whoever previously killed him.

I thought spawn was what someone becomes when their application for daemonhood is rejected. Good call on Lucius though. Possessing your enemies + eternal life certainly sounds like a daemon to me. khornedog: Regarding Oblits, if it's a daemonic computer virus that they are corrupted by, wouldn't they be daemons? Much like a daemon prince is a mortal shell inhabited by a daemon?

I thought spawn was what someone becomes when their application for daemonhood is rejected. This is pretty much spot on. Also, I can't believe a Chaos player is complaining that one of his units might be considered a Daemon. Even without Preferred Enemy, if Grey Knights were to assault your oblits, they are going to die.

When do chaos players not complain? Daemonhood is quite an honor... but I guess it depends on what legion you are talking to. WB's are all for it! Droofus, That does make sense. I had it in my head what a daemon is. I was thinking of it in a "pure" sense. Daemons in my mind are manifestations of warp energy directed by the chaos gods. Oblits carry a portion of that energy too so therefore would be considered daemonic. I'll admit it was a gut reation I think and I have no fluff to back me up. I mentioned in one of my posts Grey Knights just waste oblits in combat with our without PE. Mark already taught me that lesson.

but in the faq they say that the same powers can stack so hammerhand can be cast by several things in the unit for a massive str bonus

What is the bad news? The list I have been using only uses 6 henchmen squads. I would like to use 8 , no biggie. I thought it was interesting that DE units were on there as demonic.

but in the faq they say that the same powers can stack so hammerhand can be cast by several things in the unit for a massive str bonus Wow, you're right! The squad that Mark runs could go up to strength 8 (+2 from the libby with might of titan and hammerhand, +1 from draigo with hammerhand and +1 from the squad with hammerhand). Dreadnoughts beware!
