Hello... plans are starting for the next, 1st Sunday Ameritrash day. The first one went well with games of Civilization, Buck Rogers and Battlestar going off. The deal is that the first Sunday of every month we will be looking to play some "Ameritrash" games that take a little longer to play than the average Wednesday night games. (Or a couple of just great short "Ameritrash" games) What is Ameritrash? Here is a definition I found...hope it helps out. Ameritrash is a catchphrase for 'American style boardgames. In general, this means games that emphasize a highly developed theme, characters, heroes, or factions with individually defined abilities, player to player conflict, and usually feature a moderate to high level of luck.. This does not neccesarily mean all of the games played on Sundays will be of this genre. We are also looking to play Wargame, Euros and even "Waros" that need some extra time. [glow=red,2,300] How this will work is that people will offer to set up some games they would like to play. We ask those people to post in this thread how many players they need for the game. The key is to "sign" up for a game. [/glow] Many of these games are longer and need a certain number of players. There will be some pick up games as well...but the plan is to get a least one good sized "ameritrash" or longer game if not two going on these days! So lets start thinking about some games for next Sunday! And I hope everyone has a Happy Easter! Thanks Rod

So to start things off... I am going to offer to bring along Dominant Species next Sunday. It is a six player game, so I am looking for another five players. It is not complex, and not all ameritrashy....(It has the theme, and some conflict, but not alot of luck!) If you are interested let me know.... Anyone else gotta game they want to try? Rod

Hello to all from India - I wish I was there for some Ameritrash.
On my trip, I did meet with Arun though and we played backgammon for money. I won six dollars from him.
Have fun though, bummer I am missing Dominant Species - I hope to try that sometime.
Oh and that part about gambling with Arun. Totally true.

I thought Arun was headed for Hawaii? Is there a Hawaii, India?
$6 is what in Rupees, like $10K?
Good luck with your travels and don't spend all you gambling profits in one game store.

I wouldn't worry to much about what is or what is not an ameritrash gamel I view the real purpose of the first sunday games is to play games that are a bit to long to be played on a Wednesdat night. I am bringing Napoleonic wars(GMT), and decline and fall(ariel) and a couple of others Temis
