Hey everyone. I am Chris and I'm one of the gamers from the Plymouth crew. You may or may not have seen me. I'm making a little (read: big) dive into Warmahordes and I'm really looking forward to getting my Cygnar together and painted. I do have a couple general rule questions I'd like to get cleared up.
-Do models with Combined Melee/Ranged Attack need to be in base-to-base in order to use it? -Can models with Combined Melee Attack perform one when they charge? -When a model with Gunfighter charges into melee, does it benefit from boosted damage rolls or does that only apply to melee weapons? -Can you use a Warcaster/Warlock's feat at any point in your turn, or only during the Warcaster/Warlock's activation?
Thanks in advance, and looking forward to seeing you all at Econocon 14!
-Chris

Hi Chris, welcome aboard! Hope the following answers help
1) No, models need to be in formation (within CMD range of the unit leader), but do not need to be base-to-base. 2) Yes, I believe models can use CMA on a charge- it is not an order, just an ability the models have. 3) I believe the auto boost applies only to melee damage rolls specifically. 4) You have to use it during your casters activation

Which warcaster are you planning to use?

wminsing - Thanks. I was wondering about those because a lot of units I plan on using (Long Gunners, Black 13th Gun Mages, Stormblades) have those abilities I mentioned. Feat activation was another thing, and it does make sense that it'd happen during the caster's activation. doctorclockwork - I have a couple games under my belt with the starter box and I'm digging it. I'll be sticking with both versions of good ol' STRYKER!! I like the Prime version's versatility, and Epic Stryker will be nice for a more melee-heavy force. -Chris

Hey, MK II pStryker is pretty solid now- Earthquake at 3 focus is an excellent 'clear line of sight and shoot you to death' spell- as Hexerias very nearly discovered! Chris, no problem, let us know if you any other questions! -Will

I need some input on an item I noticed. There is no minimum number of models, correct? So each model in the unit may combine with itself and get +1 on its attack and dmg rolls.

Combining on a melee attack sacrifices the other models' activations.
For example, if one model is the source of a combined melee attack and 3 of his buddies join in, those 3 will not activate that turn.

Combining melee attacks gets rid of the other combined model's actions (not activations, they still get to move, right?). However, what I was trying to confirm is that there is no minimum for the number of models in a combined melee attack - I looked in the book and found none.

I guess there would be a minimum of one? I'm not sure what you are getting at.

I would think to do a combined ranged attack. The minimum would be two. One model would be a solo ranged attack.

I am almost certain that there must be two or models participating to get the CRA/CMA bonus. I don't remember where this is defined, but I know it is in there. I'll check when I get home.

pg 62 of the rule book. Two or troopers with the CMA ability can combine their melee attacks against the same melee target. I hope that clarifies CMA for you.
